We are happy to announce a new alliance with the Nice Foundation to promote child sponsorship for education and nutrition here in Nicaragua. The Nice Foundation, headed by founders Bill and Shirley Beltz is based in Glen Carbon, IL. For the past few years we have collaborated with them on various projects and now we see the wisdom in allowing them to handle the stateside administration of a child sponsorship program to ensure funding for the children enrolled in the “Little Benjamin School” in Tipitapa. The school was founded by Ann Pearson in 1998 and offers Christian Primary Education to over three hundred children in an extremely poor area of the city of Tipitapa.
The Nice Foundation is a non denominational, non profit organization dedicated to promoting Christian education, health and nutrition programs in Nicaragua. They have for several years operated an extensive program of child sponsorships to fund their own programs in Managua. The program in Tipitapa will benefit from Bill and Shirley’s experience and established program to ensure that sponsors are kept informed about the children’s progress. The relationship with NICE is strategic for them as well, they do not have personnel stationed permanently here in Nicaragua and so we will be able to help them on this end while they help us in the US.
The cost of sponsoring a child is $25/mo and we are proud to say that with the help of NICE Foundation Volunteers, 100% of that money goes for the children’s education and nutritional needs.
